HI all! I needed to just order 2 bottles of Americolor and it seems like everyone wants $4-5 minimum shipping.....and since the colors are only going to cost about $3, it seems ridiculous to pay that much for shipping....

Does anyone know of a place that has cheap shipping or is willing to just pop the 2 bottles in a bubble envelope and put 2 stamps on it?

Thanks!

Pretty much all of them charge that much for shipping/handling... it's gotten ridiculous with the cost for that to me

Sorry, but I think that ntertayneme is right! That's why so many people buy wilton. It's just easier to run to the store and buy two bottles of color than pay $6 shipping and wait for them to come. I keep a running list of things I need, when it gets to be enough to justify the shipping, then I order. icon_confused.gif

www.sugarcraft.com is willing to ship some things first class if you ask. I don't think the bottles of americolor will go first class though...might be too thick a package. You can call americolor though and see if anyone near you sells it.

I actually emailed them already and they said that they had to charge the 1 pound rate because they had to put it in a box because they were afraid of the bottle bursting if they put it in a bubble envelope.....

I guess I'll just "suck it up" and pay the shipping cost, but I think that I'll look around and try to get the "most" for my "1 pound minimum" shipping cost. I was just hoping to actually STICK to an "I only need 2 things" shopping trip <grin>

Try Cincinnati Cake And Candy Supplies. If you go through their website you'll probably have to pay, but if you call them (513-821-6161) they'll do special stuff for you, they're cool like that.

I've had lots of bad experiences by shopping by mail. Here it's very hard to find cake decorating supplies. There is a party shop that carries some Wilton items but the prices are doubled, so the only option is to buy by internet (Wilton). I ordered from them a week ago and received the order in 6 days, that's pretty fast cpompared to other people. The other problem I've had is that some companies think we're "international but we're US, get it. So they one to charge one left eye for shipping. The other option I have is buying from ebay. Actually I just ordered an americolor set of 12 for $14.95 without shipping. I'm lookin for a good source for good cake books. I'm having problems ordering from amazon because of my address, so that's not a option. I will like to buy several of them from one source. If you can recomend me a good online bookstore where I can find Colette Peters, debbie Brown, scott wooley to name a few, I would really appreciate it.
