Something like this:

Thanks... it FITS me and my style of baking. I'm very "natural" and I kind of loathe fondant and luster dust and all that fancy schmancy stuff. I'll do it if people want me too, but I'm wanting to push the old fashioned way of cooking.

My soon to be 11 year old said, "Mom this one fits you". So what does that mean? LOL

Ditto on Nostalgic Cakes, but Melissa if you are in a legit business I would consider having someone illustrate a similar image (50's mom & kids) that would be copyrighted just to you. If the image on your post belongs to someone else there could be some complications on your advertising.
Just food for thought is all I am inferring. thumbs_up.gif

It's not that I dislike the name, but I am not loving it either. Only because I think it may limit you, and people may only think of cakes of yesteryear, and not that you do all style cakes with all the newest designs as well.

I would go into Tickle Your Fancy before I would go into Nostalgic Cakes... just my own thing, but N does come before T, so I would SEE Nostalgic before Tickle in the phonebook!
Lots of help I am...
Both graphics are great, but targeting different people, I think.

ha, I have to chuckle, the name "tickle your fancy" is what my daughter suggested to me a long time ago. I searched the web for names like that to see if they were taken...was I surpised at what came back! LOL!

You know... I'm going to stick with Tickle Your Fancy... SO WHAT if there is a few sexual sites names like that... do you know how many sexual sites there are and ones that are associated with SWEETS!?!?!?!?!

Do we think "x-rated" when we Here Tickle me Elmo? NO... Tickle Your Fancy is an old-fashioned saying... And then add the "Fancy Cakes" and you have Tickle Your Fancy Cakes.... doesn't sound xrated AT ALL.

I think instead of using an image, I'll try to use a cake photo of mine. I just need to take a better photo - one NOT on my kitchen stove with the fan light for my lighting! LOL

Thanks all!

Oh heck no - you didn't strike a nerve - that "sex stuff" was the reason I was thinking of dropping it.. but I did a survey of the moms of my momsclub and they ALL love Tickle Your Fancy Cakes... When I divulged why I was hesitant, they said I was over thinking it - which I knew I was...

But now to make a cake to show my talents! (instead of the rushed cakes on the stove!) LOL

oh tickle my fancy! Your going to have wierdos calling for sex toys and do you have private dancers in your shop! I saw that and my brain went to feathers. That really is not the best name for you.

I agree! Your cakes are mostly for kids. You'll be hounded by weirdo's. icon_eek.gif I agree with julzs71 & jscakes on this one~ Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree....not that I think they'll be calling for toys icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif ...but I do think you'll be getting a lot of "risque" calls

I just turned to my husband and said " tickle your fancy cakes" his response was ...."how many of those porn cake shops are there!"

great idea...I'm sorry to say it but I also ran "Tickle your fancy" by my DH and he asked why I was doing web searches on massage parlors icon_eek.gif I like where you were going with Nostalgic Cakes and really agree with eggshells idea of using "tickle your fancy" as your ad tag line. I hope this helps.

My opinion...I like Tickle Your Fancy Cakes, it's cute and I didn't think "sex shop" at all until it was mentioned. But you are right about the number of sex sites using the word sweet and delight. I wanted to use one of those in my name and DH alerted me to that fact.
It's stinks, but it's a fact.

However, I agree with another poster about the word Nostalgic. I get what you're trying to do and how you want to come across, but you will be limiting the type of business you get with that name.

How about these:

Remember When Cakes (you could even write it like this Remember When...Cakes)
Good Ol' Days Cakery
Back in Time Bakery or Cakery
Wonder Years Cakes

Hmm, sorry - don't like it...

Definition of nostalgic: Situations of the *past

The *past to me is old and I don't want anyone to think my cakes are old or out of style. I also think of an antique shop where everything is dark, dank, dusty and moldy. euwww

Do you ever feel beaten down? I think I'm just going to scrap it all and go with what DH likes and what a couple others have mentioned... just plain old "Sweet Melissa's". yes, there are a couple online, but nowhere near me and I'll never go big time...

So, it will look something like this:

Sweet Melissa's

Custom cakes made from scratch using organic ingredients

I'll use a cake photo... probably this one:

I NEED to get something. 7months of cakes and never any cards to give out!

I like Tickle Your Fancy Cakes better. Lighter, whimsical, fun.... The other is kind of serious... nostalgia...sentimental.... a little heavier.

Like it better than Sweet Melissa's too.... Tickle... is so fun! Would make me want to go there. Sweet Melissa's is just kind of there....

P.S. Hmmm... Now that others put a different twist on the whole Tickle me thing... not sure....
