I'm making the wedding cake for my sister's wedding, but it's small second marriage, and the ceremony and reception are all at the same location, with only 100 people. So it isn't that difficult to arrange.

but my best friend is hoping icon_rolleyes.gif to be getting married soon, and wants me to be Matron of Honor AND make the wedding cake. For a 300 person wedding, with the ceremony and reception at 2 different locations.

I just don't see how it would be possible to do it! 1st, the night before the wedding when most of the decorating would be done, i would have to be at rehearsal and dinner! Than, how would i manage to get the cake to the reception site and assembled, if I have to be at the church with the bride getting ready for the wedding? I would hate to have to assemble the cake and let it sit for 4 hrs before the reception even starts!

I'm thinking it just won't work. Any suggestions??

Jennifer

For the 100 cake wedding I would suggest a very simple decoration, as in you smooth all the buttercream and there is either ribbon around each tier, or flowers decorate the cake.

For the 300 serving cake I would suggest making a dummy cake for display, this way you can complete it in advance. Then make 2 layer sheet cakes for the kitchen to cut and serv.

Just cake for thought icon_lol.gif
