Did anyone see it? It was on last night and over the weekend.

Very interesting! The competitors were not celebrities or bakers but homemakers, except but the only guy in the competiton who was in the Navy I think.

There was one lady close to my neck of the woods. She was from Longwood, FL.

I turned it on at the very end when they were making their "signature" cookie. How did they find the contestants?

I also saw this challenge over the weekend and last night again. Yes, it is really great to see regular people on the challenges for a change--I love seeing the professional pastry chefs, but this was a nice change. Most, if not all, of the cookie recipes are listed on the Foodnetwork's web site (Foodnetwork.com). Go to the TV schedule and click on the air date. When you scroll down, you will see the list of reipes. Click on the recipe you want. I would love to find out also how these contestents were chosen.
Bug!

I saw the show, however I think the one lady that did the wedding cookie was not just a homemaker, she mentioned that she did orders for her cookies, besides she had a flex mold for her tiny roses and just some things that I don't think the average homemaker would have, unless of course they were in the business.

I don't know exactly how they got chosen either.....

But you know, FoodNetwork sometimes posts or announces the competitions and ask people to submit their entries...

Like the FoodNetwork does your Wedding thing a few weeks ago. All those couples submitted their tapes and then got picked.

I would think that these contestants submitted their stories and their recipes.

Okay, I too saw the tail end of the cookie show, but PEOPLE...we need to stop this addiction!!! If we're not on this site, we're watching food tv!! Or both! How funny is that! Has anyone caught the Bobby Flay show where he takes on a Chef one on one with their specialty food? Bobby never wins or it's a draw. Hmmmmm.

I'm so sorry that this is off topic, but I just noticed on these posts that the time of posting is totally off! The last topic was posted for Saturday already. What's up with that?

Bobby has won. he won the wedding cake showdown and he won the chowder (chowda) one too.
