I am making the Martha Stewart sugar cookie cakes for wedding favors.
These are for my daughter's wedding Nov. 4th. I have to make 400 cookies icon_eek.gif

WOW!

Good luck with those! I think if it were me, I'd make a batch soon and toss them into the freezer, then thaw in a month or so and see how they are. If they're good, then you can start making the real ones and freezing them.

What kind of decoration are you doing on them?

Are those the ones where the cookies are stacked like mini tiered cakes?

Can't wait to see pics of them, I'm sure they'll be beautiful!

Laura.

I LOVE her recipe. She has fresh lemon juice and lemon zest in her recipe and it is soooo refreshing! I use Alice's icing and Martha's cookies and I get rave reviews. For flavoring I use creme bouquet which goes very nicely with the lemony cookies. These will be a big hit at the wedding. thumbs_up.gif

Yes, they are the stacked ones that look like little wedding cakes. Instead of putting the flowers on the top, I am going to put 2 wedding rings. The plastic ones that you can get at Hoddy Lobby or Wal-Mart.
I am going to start making cookie dough right away.
I ordered the boxes from on line and I ordered ribbon with their names and the wedding date on them to tie around the boxes.

Could you list the website where you ordered the clear boxes for the stacked cookies? I would like to make something like this for my sister's birthday. Good luck with all the wedding plans. It is a lot of work but so much fun. Thanks.

Tonight on Ace of Cakes, Duff and his team made 300 of those exact same cookie stacks. He said that the lady who ordered them saw them in a magazine (but Duff never said they were Martha's or from her magazine hehe) Interesting all the coincidences in this small world we live in icon_smile.gif

What a great spin on the typical wedding cake cookie. I will definatly have to keep those in mind for future weddings. Good luck!
