I have had several people pm me about the diaper cake in my photos. Instead of answering ea one, Ive decided to post the instructions here. Im not really a good teacher so I hope they make sense.

I started with 3 6 cakes. After torting and filling, I put each cake on its own board, and doweled each layer, then stacked the cakes, crumb coated and put a central dowel though all three layers. I then rolled the fondant about ½ thick, I normally dont do fondant this thick, but you wont get the folds and outlines of the diapers with a thin layer. The covering was a bit of a pain because the cake is so high, but the thickness of the fondant allowed a little stretching without tearing. Once covered I divided the sides of the cake in 5 more or less equal portions. I 1st used a blunt knife to draw the lines and then used the side of my hand to make the indentations more pronounced. I sprayed the cake with a fine mist of water and then started spreading on shredded coconut, this is a very messy job but really worth it in the end. Then drew another line in the middle of each diaper for the centre fold. This fold only runs around three sides, and on two opposite sides I made a little v shape over the fold line. I made a little gift tag with the babys name from gumpaste and put the ribbon on.

Really very easy and simple. The completed cake measured about 9 tall. I used 6" cakes but Im sure this will look great with any size square cake.

These could be used for towels too... though I'm not sure why people would want to make a stack of Towels for a cake! LOL (maybe a spa cake? LOL)

Well..I made some towel cakes for Mothers Day.. It included a big body towel, house shoes, and a vase with flowers in the center... PS.. I LOVE YOUR DIAPER CAKE!!!

This is so beautiful, specially the coconut effect and this is basically why I'm writting to you.

Can you please give me more information on how you did this? You said you used shredded coconut, but it looks like you shredded the coconut a little more or am I wrong?
