Now! Fbct: Do You Taper Down The Edges On The Wax Paper?

I just finished a FBCT. I'm wondering about the outer edges now. I took white BC and went around the outer black edges to help blend it with the BC on the cake. Now, should the edges taper down to flat or should they just stick up on the wax paper? I don't want it to be to thin to peel at the edges; but it seems like I'd get a smoother finish that way.
If you taper them down to the wax paper, they will stick up when you flip it over. I suppose they will eventually fall when it thaws, but I don't taper them at all.
Mhill: Thank you! I've bee sitting here looking at how many people read it until finally I got a response. Thanks a bunch! Now it's off to the freezer! Funny! I feel like I'm almost done with the cake instead of just getting started, even though the cake isn't even frosted yet!
Merissa, I love the hibiscus cake! It's so bold! Pooh is cute too. My cake is a sheetcake. I have read that somebody does the whole top of sheetcakes too; but I just stopped at about 1/4 past the drawing. I can hardly wait to see it!
Thanks..I cant wait to see your cake either!
It's a picture of John Cena from WWE!
Love the Hawaiian look cake!!!!
