I don't know if I saw something like this on this forum, but I can't seem to find it and since I'm so new in cake decorating it would be great to have some sort of guide on the steps on baking, freezing, torting filling and decorating a cake. This for all those amazing cake decorators on this site.

I don't know what others do, but if I have a wedding on Saturday,

On Monday and Tuesday, I go shopping, wrap boards, and make and color frosting, make flowers, etc.

I bake on Wed and Thurs.

on Thursday I begin filling and crumb coating my Wed cakes.

I finish filling, crumb coating, and totally decorate on Friday.

I finish decorating if necessary, cut supports, package the items I need to bring, etc on Saturday morning before delivery.

Now, if it's not a wedding cake, I bake one day, decorate the next, for an afternoon or morning pickup the following day. I do not freeze cakes as I don't care for the flavor they get no matter how much you wrap them. Plus my cakes are very moist and dense as they are and freezing makes them too heavy.

Hope this helps!
