I need this for a bridal tasting in a few weeks. I haven't been able to find any that are from scratch online. I suppose that I could just bake up my chocolate cake, and add crushed oreos into the batter? Suggestions? Recipes?

Thanks!

My sister wants a cake with brownies baked into it. Chocoholism runs in the family. I thought about just making the chocolate whipped cream and then adding brownie chunks to it and using that as a filling. You could use oreos and whipped cream. My main concern is if the layers will sit evenly after this.

If anyone else has a recipe for a cookies in cream cake I'd be interested too so....Bump

Rambo, I tried something on my own last night for the cookies and cream cake. I used my basic vanilla recipe, and added in 1 c. of crushed oreo cookies that I ran through the food processor. I think that chocolate cake would be good with this, too. For the frosting, I used 2c. of heavy whipping cream, and added in 1-1/2 c. crushed oreos. Turned out AWESOME!!!

For the brownie cake recipe that you mentioned for your sister...Try a regular brownie recipe. I wonder if it would work in a cake pan as it does in a baking dish? I thought of giving that one a try, too. GREAT idea for a brownie cake! As a fellow chocoholic, I'm all ready to give this one a whirl. For the brownie recipe, go to www.recipezaar.com, and look for "brownie heart cake". It's recipe #61. Hope this helps!

For the filling, how long would the whipped cream stand up ok, outside the refridgerator? I am thinking of experimenting with cookies & cream filling.....(I love oreos!!)

Now that I think about it I believe there is a recipe for cookies and cream filling in the recipe section. Just remembered copying one a long while back.

There is a cookies n cream filling recipe. The whipped cream needs to stay cool, so it's kind of a problem long term. HOWEVER, you can finely blend the oreo's and mix them into buttercream for a filling that will last longer out. You can crush the oreo's and still have some chunks and it bakes well and tastes great.
