I'm having a stand at a local village fair at the end of August where I will be displaying some cake dummies, a portfolio of work and some decorated cookies. I don't know how to display and package the cookies though - I'd be really grateful for your suggestions.

will the decorated cookies be for show or to sell at the time?

Prepackaged-with a business card attached. You don't want the cookies just sitting out for each person to get their own-one person's dirty hand could contaminate the rest of the cookies.

If you put one in a lollipop type storage bag (depending on the size) it will be a nice display. You could put them in a basket or just hand them out to people that come by your stand.

emmascakes...sounds like FUN!

Anywho....the basket idea is really cute, that's what I've done in the past...using Longerburger or any nice basket....maybe with a bow or ribbons on it.

Another idea (for spotlight cookies) they make cookie stands. Their clear and the cookie faces right out, used for wedding and such....I'll look for the site....

If you have the Wilton Cupcake stand you could set them out on it and just replace the ones people take icon_smile.gif

It's a cute idea, I think it would be nice to see the front of the cookie on these stands. Good luck.

If the weather is anything like it is here, it's yellow jacket and hornet time.
I would package in cello bags before displaying.

I use my Foodsaver to seal the bags. It works great.

What fab ideas - I love the 'cookie stands' I can't believe someone's invented them, but they're perfect. And I think I will put them in cellophane bags with some pretty ribbon. Thanks guys, I don't know what I'd do without you lot!

If they are not cookies on sticks, you could package them in ziplock baggies (get the cheap ones so there's no printing on the bags) and then put a tag on the top. You can put the cookie type on one side of the tag, and your contact info on the back. I've attached a pic of some that I did for my daughter's bday class treats to give you an idea what I'm talking about. I made the tags on MS Publisher.

Are these for show, or will people actually be taking samples? b/c if it's just to look at, you can put it under a clear cake dome.

cookiemookie - When you use your foodsaver vac, does it smash the icing? icon_confused.gif What kind of icing do you use? Very intrigued by this idea!!! thumbs_up.gif

Edited: Just noticed that you said you SEAL the bags w/it... LOL icon_lol.gif So you just seal and not suck the air out of the bag? Wonderful idea!!!! Going to have to get me a Foodsaver now!!!!
