my nephew asked me today for a pirate cake...he's having pirates of the carribean party!I said yes of course but.....where the heck do I start I was thinking a pirates chest and I can figure out the jewels etc..but not the top/open chest.gosh, any ideas or helpful hints would be appreciated on pirates, chests, jewels etc...
If you do a seach for Pirate, there are tons of pictures of different pirate themed cakes. I was going to suggest maybe doing a ship....you could make it as tall or as short as you'd want to. You could use real dowels and string, and maybe some light canvas for the sail. Of course, I have all these glorious ideas, and they don't always turn out like I had envisioned in my head! ha!
You have to post pictures of what you end up with, I can't wait to see it!
Good Luck!
Hi I did a treasure chest cake about a month ago for my son (4). to make the like look open, I placed all the jewels on the chest part towards the front and sides, the I just laid the pid on top and touched up the icing and added gold coins where needed. It turned out geat.
