I am going to attempt to make MMF today and I have a couple of questions....

1. I don't have a scale and the bags of marshmallows that I got are 10.5 ounces. My question is the receipe on here calls for 16 ounces of marshmallows...how many cups is that? ( I promise I tried googling it, but I really only found answers for liquids)....I need to purchase a scale..I know, but in the meantime help!! icon_cry.gif

2. Should I grease the dough hook and the paddle as well as the bowls?

TIA!!

I always just use one whole bag of marshmellows (10oz) and then half of another bag. It seems to work out ok.

Definitely grease everything that touches the marshmellows! It'll get very sticky but if the Crisco's on the dough attachment, it'll be a little easier.

Good luck because MMF takes delicious!

Hi, there. I plan on making my first batch of MMF this week, too. I can't answer your question, but for simplicity, I'm going to use the "Easy Marshmallow Fondant" recipe on this site, which doesn't even need a mixer. Best of luck!

Is there an EASY MMF recipe - cause I am only familiar with the regular one which seemed extremely easy to me! I didn't even use my KA, and (I hate kneading dough) - the kneading part took very little strength and was fast! Hmm. I don't know how this could be easier (it's sure easier than traditional fondant - ouch!).

dydemus its very easy to make, its using the marshmello fluff/cream so no melting marshmellows.

That's what I was thinking 1 bag and half of another, but I wanted to double check first!

Thanks all! icon_smile.gif

I just Pour some in a bowl add a bit of water and microwave. I add the mix to a larger bowl and add powder sugar until it forms a ball. The amounts of sugar vary so I just go with it.
