here's a pic of some butterfly cookies I made for my aunt. She lives down the street from my dad and she is always making dinner for him.....so I thought I'd send her a some cookies.

I use cookie cutters..........it's not very often that I freehand cutting out a cookie shape.

coffeecake - "Zaxapo compulsive disorder" - too funny!! I'm NOT that smart, theinternet is a wonderful thing! In fact, I've lived in Maryland all my life, and I can barely speak English! Not sure what the Greek word is for cookies, but I think maybe I have several compulsive disorders that revolve around food and baking!! But, I feel honored to be in the company of you and Zamode as a dysfunctional baker!

Everyone's cookies look fantastic! I have some left over cookie dough chilled, so I am hoping to squeeze in a few bugs tonight after I finish my cake order. Hmmm... now, what bug to do...

All the bugs really look nice. My family thought the topic sounded creepy. I guess eating bug cookies doesn't sound to appetizing. BUT I keep telling them they all look great!
I painted the butterflies with luster dust and I used a black (edible) on the bee hive.

I'm not sure if I will get to participate this month because I am still sick. Hubby is on vacation from work this week and we're not doing much of anything. 
When I do feel better I need to clean. My house got so messy these past 2 weeks.
Ok so I just moved from VA to Kansas last month, got my stuff on the 31st of July and have had an itch to bake. However to my horror when I moved into my lovey""vintage" Army quarters I found a oven that was older then I! 
!! (it was also a safety issue since the door would not close and made the knobs RED HOT!!!) So I called the repair man on a week ago Friday and in typical Army fashion they could not come until this past tuesday 
. But he imediately told me that he would bring me a new one since he would not work on the old ones. 
So Wednesday he came with a nice new Oven for me!!! So I thought what better way to break it in then a batch of bug cookies!!!! Well it worked splended and my kids gave me a thumbs up on the cookies.
I used the no fail sugar cookies with royal icing and the bees are chocolate transfers inspired by the WBH. Thanks for looking!! 
OMGosh those bees are so cute! Does chocolate transfer work like buttercream transfer?
I LOVE THE BEES! I never thought of doing a chocolate transfer on a cookie. Cool idea! I am DEFINITELY making my cookies as soon as I get my kids in bed!
