I use the Wilton recipe in the back of the yearbook. It tastes great! You just add cocoa powder to your buttercream recipe, and then add milk to get the consistancy you like.

I recently used this recipe myself and the customer said it tasted wonderful.

I think it tastes real good. The color is a little light, but you could add more cocoa or brown food coloring.

I also use the Chocolate Syrup recipe on this site, and love it. Very similar to a buttercream, but very definitely chocolate.

I prefer the wilton recipe, starts out as buttercream, super easy and it's yummy. Not only does it taste good but if you have to do black icing for anything it is definately the way to go. I make up a batch and freeze it in 1 cup increments then when I need black for outlining, I thaw and tint. Doesn't need as much coloring so it doesn't get that funny taste and you get a hint of chocolate, so how can you go wrong. thumbs_up.gif

Two cents from a lifelong chocoholic.

I use my regular buttercream recipe and just added melted chocolate to it. Usually start with 3 to 4 oz then add more depending on how much chocolate taste and color I want.

You may need to add more liquid to it, as the chocolate may make it a bit drier.
