So I was cruising around Kroger at 7 am this morn with 2 toddlers and I happen across Philadelphia cream cheese area. And what do I spy with my little cakin eye......Philadelphia cream cheese cheese cake filling in a tub. Ready to use, all you do is stir it and put in a pie shell smooth and viola! icon_confused.gificon_biggrin.gif
So I thought what an easy filling for those of us looking for a good cheesecake cake filling. I tasted it when I got home and it is delish!!!! Has that cheesecake flavor, smell, feel and wonderful taste.
Thought I'd pass it along.

I have heard of that stuff and was thinking of trying it. I currently use the recipe that has the jello cheesecake pudding and heavy whipping cream(delicious), but to have it all done and ready... definately nice! Jen

I've seen that and wondered about it...thanks for the heads up, Tuesday! I know what my cheesecake loving DH is getting in his birthday cake this year!

I have been wanting to try it, and keep forgetting everytime I'm at the store to pick some up. Thanks for letting us know that it's good. I will have to write it down on my shopping list now before I forget again.

Sounds delicious though!

You should make that into a thread, "I spy with my little caking eye....."
What a great find, thanks for passing that along, does it come in different flavors? I usually make the cream cheese, sugar, egg & chocolate chips filling, but anything pre-made, saves time & comes recommended is worth running out and buying now.
Thanks, Gail

It's a dairy product so it would deff have to refrigerated.
I don't remember seeing any other flavors but I wasn't looking to tell you the truth. Kinda got caught up in the finding of that one and I was with 2 toddlers so time was limited! icon_lol.gif
I just made a white chocolate cake and I'm going to fill it with the cream cheese filling I mention.
Then cover it with bittersweet chocolate ganache and drizzle it with melted caramel. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
Not too bad for a last minute find and a cake on a whim!!!! thumbs_up.gif
Ill post it when I finish and let you know how it works.

Clever to use it as a filling, I'd never have thought of that. Gotta love CC! icon_biggrin.gif

It's not too bad. I bought a tub 'round Valentine's Day and used to to make little frozen cheesecake bites. Put the filling in heart and rose shaped candy molds and froze. DH loved 'em!

Or.....how about mixing some crushed graham crackers into it and using it in those stuffed strawberries.

I, too, have seen this but love my own cheesecake recipes too much to ever try it as a cheesecake. But as a filling, that is a super idea! I am assuming since all you have to do is place it in a shell, it's pasteurized? And using it with a white chocolate cake and ganache... oh, brother, this could be trouble.lol

well, I got the cake done!!!! I didn't end up using the ganache after all. I didn't care for the chocolate I used and it was too bitter for me.
So I opted for a lighter fare and made it into more of a summery cake.
I made it white chocolate cake with cheesecake filling iced in Rich's bettercreme with white chocolate added. Then I used my R.I pansies and gum paste leaves to decorate it. Kinda pretty to me, reminded me of a garden lunch cake. Lemme know what you guys think to please. HONEST COMMENTS ONLY!!!!! I can take it! icon_biggrin.gif

Love the colors! It does look summery. Just wondering, I have never made Rich's bc, does it always turn out as light and fluffy as looks in the picture? It reminds me of 7 min. frosting. Now the important question... how does it taste?? icon_lol.gif BTW- I picked up a tub of the filling today. Can't wait to try this. I noticed the filling is not to be frozen. Wondering how long it will keep?
