Just a quick qustion. Maybe silly too. Does the Buttercream dream recipe on CC crust?
Thanks diamondsmom
Hi diamonds! It's suppose to crust, but I made it last month for my son's b-day cake and it wouldn't crust for me. I think there was a thread on here about it. I'll look and see if I can find it.

Denise, if it doesn't crust does that mean you can't pipe with it? You know borders and roses and stuff?
I make buttercream Dream all the time with 1 stick unsalted butter, 1 stick salted butter, 1 cup crisco and 2 lb of powdered sugar, almond extract, and 5 tbs water and it crust every single time, and I live in North Carolina with really high humidity!
HTH
I do just fine with it, almost all of my stuff in my pictures are made with it. Look at the stacked birthday cake in my pictures for reference.

Hey sams!! You can still pipe with it to make roses and borders. I just couldn't get it to crust for me to use the viva paper towel on it. I followed the recipe to a T, and let it set for over a hour and it wouldn't crust? I don't know if maybe the heat had something to do with it??
Here is the thread I was talking about:

To get the recipe to crust, don't add as much milk as the recipe calls for.
When I use it to make my roses I only add 3 tablespoons of milk. Then I remove enough stiff icing for my roses and add more milk for smoothing and borders.

Thank you ACB!!! I'm going to try it again with less milk. It is sooo yummy!
