I have decided to start back decorating cakes, as a hobby, after about an 7 year abscence.

I recently ordered a cake from a grocery store and although the cake was decorated beautifully, the taste was not there. Plus they charged for a cake that was not even a full 1/4 sheet cake! They insisted it was, but I knew from doing my decorating years ago, that they had not cut it correctly.

ANyway....I am making the hamburger cake for my husband for fathers day. I was thinking of having the buns be some sort of a white cake and chocolate for the middle cake layer. What should I use for fillings between the layers?

I thought the chocolate cake layer might taste nicely with a raspberry filling, but don't know if I should use the same for the white cake layers or another flavor. I am worried about flavor overload as I thought the white cake flavor could be an almond flavor.

Any suggestions would be great, this site is unbelievable!!!

raspberry would be great, even with almond. Seedless jam makes a good filling.
