My husband and I were standing in the cake isle at Walmart discussing what kind of cake he wanted. There was a lady standing behind us that suggested I try using Dream Whip in my cake. I decided to give it a try. I baked a yellow cake today using a package of Dream Whip, cake mix, 4 eggs, and a cup of water as it calls for on the Dream Whip box. The cake turned out very moist and very light and fluffy. The Dream Whip also added a bit of sweetness to the flavor of the cake.

Has anyone else ever tried this? I love the results and I will probably use this in all my cakes that don't need to be more sense.

Wow! I have never tried this, but it sounds great and Dream Whip is fairly inexpensive too. Would love to try it. Did you whip it up first and then fold it in or just add it to the cake mix dry? Thanks for sharing.

yeah i've done that before. same like the instant pudding. And you do add it to the mixture dry. make a really nice moist cake not too dense though.

I just posted a question tonight about how to get a cake fluffier - not so dense and this was the same recipe I received. I can't wait to try it!!

I use dream whip in all my cakes. My customers love them and want to know how I make my cakes and I tell them is a secret. If we give out our secrets, to our customers, we will not have orders.

I use three tablespoons of dream whip, 1 tablespoon of meringue powder and a teaspoon of flavoring(vanilla, almond, chocolate, etc....)
The people rave on how different my cakes are.

There are quite a few folks on CC that use the Dream Whip. I have tried it several times, but depending on the cake I am making determines whether I use it. It seems to make a cake too sweet for me and my family and friends that taste test for me, but the texture / fineness it gives cakes is AWESOME!
