I am doing a 9x13 cake for 18 people. The person would like an image of tinker bell fairy. I found a few pictures but I am wondering how to get them placed on the cake. I will be trying the patter trace then imprinting it on to the cake. Are there any onther ways? How do you get the actual pic on the cake like bakeries do. Do I need a special machine?

Professional bakeries purchase licensed edible images when it comes to copyrighted characters. To make your own edible images, you don't need a special machine. All you need is a new, compatible inkjet printer like a Canon iP3000, iP1500 or MP130, ink cartridges filled with edible ink and edible paper like frosting sheets. Supplies and more info can be found at www.kopykake.com

I don't know where you live, but the Publix in my town will scan and print the edible image for me and I take care of the rest. The cost is around $8.00. I would assume that they would do this for any picture or image as long as it does not have a copyright. If they want "the" Tinkerbell, you may have a problem, but if you find a pic of a fairy like her, they may do it for you. Good Luck!
