I don't think this one is the same as mmf. I read about it in a magazine and she said it was a cooked icing.
Marshmallow icing is most likely 7-minute frosting. It is mostly sugar and cooked egg whites. In some ways, similar to SMBC, but no butter.
It is soft and fluffy. You can probably get very simple borders, but not much decoration with this frosting. It is a favorite of many.
Many cookbooks have this recipe, if it isn't already in the forum.
