OMG I have twins and thank god they have not done that to me. But love the pictures and I agree on the "SPOT SHOT" It does take out just about everything out of the carpet.
...... ......
Gotta love them ! Make sure you have these pictures available for any of his future occassions .
I just had to say the above.................right! Got a small payback. While helping my son clean his room my daughter one of the twins decided to paint the stove with the butter that I left on the counter. Then decided to open my water bottle and dump it all over the leather couch!! Guess I should of kept my mouth closed!!
OMG! LMFAO!
I am really sorry about your carpet, but he is adorable!
My almost two yr old did the same thing to me. Except, I had some pink dye in a bowl. I was getting ready to put the BC in to mix it up. I got up from the table to answer the phone.
My husband, who was supposed to be keeping her busy while I decorated the cake that was due THE NEXT DAY, was nowhere to be found.
I came back to the table to find my daughter covered in bright pink, almost hot pink, dye.
My carpet had shared in the hot pink dye as well and its a light color like yours.
I just shampooed it like crazy. After a few days, the color was gone. Now you wouldnt even know it used to be hot pink!
this is too funny! thanks for the pics. a picture is worth a thousend words. I have three boys, so I Know.... My son once dumped maple syrup all down the stairs, through the kitchen, into the dining room and ending in the living room in front of the tv. good thing my husband is the one to find it so I just stayed out of the way until it was all cleaned up!!!
oh that is too funny. what would we do without our lovely kiddos. hope he doesnt stay pink to long.
I feel for you. My 3 year old did the same thing with a bag of purple royal icing and his bedroom curtains and sheets.
I have to swear by oxyclean though. That is the most fantastic thing on the market. It managed to get wine stains off my white couch. It should take the pink out. As for his legs, I would say lots and lots of baths.
Been there and still am. I had to explain to a preschool teacher why my 3 yr old was covered purple and blue spots once. THankfully it was after she had ordered some cakes so she knew it was a legit excuse (imagine having to explain that to child protective services lol). My 3 yr old likes to clean the tips for me by sucking them out. A simple solution for a sugar high is a visit to the park. Resolve carpet cleaner might work on the carpet. Hope your other child feels better soon. Oh we ended up putting a childproof latch in the fridge to keep little fingers out of the cakes. Something to check into.
My son did the same thing with blue icing and I was telling my coworkers about it, a week later one of them asked me if I had gotten the stains out of the carpet I had to tell her the truth. I said no we just added red kool aid and now we have a lovely abstract purple carpet!
I then found a product called Mean Green at Family Dollar and it took it right out. Came in handy the next week when he drew with black magic marker on my new leather couch
[quote="Doug"]may I add....
DON'T change the carpet, except to put in hardwood or similar hard surface floors until he is
out of the house for good!
as this is probably a preview of coming "colorful" attractions.
LOL good idea until you become a Nanna. A few good years in the middle there. hehehe
OMG!! My dear I have just the thing for you!!! I use a product called GONZO Stain remover. The name is funny, but the product is a miracle!!
You will be able to remove the pink from your rugs no problem. It's a white bottle with a little sitting Genie on the front, and it has a red lid. Comes in a 16oz. size.
I have 5 kids at home, and 4 of them are teens. I have had every stain known to man and a few that are not!! LOL I know this will work for you.
And as for your husband, make him do the cleaning......that'll teach him to take his eyes off next time!! LOL
One more thing......at least it's just icing.
One day a few years back when I was a single working mom living in eastern oregon in my hometown, and my parents were my care providers, I came home from work to find my mother standing at the front driveway waiting for me with a few large grocery bags full of my childrens' clothing. She handed them to me and said, "Come with me".
I followed my mother around the side of the house to the back porch. There I found 3 of my children, and their 4 cousins, all sitting in their underwear, and covered in cow manure!!!!
They had been all day playing in their fort at the opposite end of the ranch, and on the walk back to the house across the pasture, someone thought it would be a good idea to start a cow pie fight!! What a stinky, dirty mess they all were!!
Now in our family, this is known as the "Great Cow Pie Incident".......
I told Grandpa to "hose them down".....as I was in my work clothes, and then I made them ride all the way back to town to our house in their underwear. Kids! Gotta lovem!!
Now that was a classic. Sorry you had to scrub and clean the carpet , but that was funny... lol lol lol thanks for sharing cause kids will be kids!
The funny thing about the "Great Cow Pie Incident" is that I grew up on a farm and as a kid I could have envisioned something like that happening... except for the fact that we weren't allowed in the big pen because that's where they kept the bulls in the summer. But the sheep and calf pen... TOTALLY!
I also empathize with the loss of your carpet and have to agree with the PP it's a good time to get hardwood and rugs until he's out of the house.. What is it with kids and RED... My DD got into a large container of Powdered Red Food coloring when I was away... OH MY GOSH! It was EVERYWHERE. DD was crying, DH was not knowing what to do, and I just took a picture of it all and laughed (what else CAN you do in that circumstance because the damage is already done). It wouldn't have been so bad, but DH didn't realize just how concentrated and fast that stuff would get on everything because of how concentrated it is. He never bothered to clean her up because he was just waiting until I got home and what he tried to "help" with, was get a wet rag, the WORST thing for powdered food coloring cleanup. I think it was a solid 9x through the washer before we finally retired the "Patience Tester" shirt she had been wearing that day. It took two baths before we finally got all the red out from between her toes and everywhere else.
What is it with kids and Red food coloring?????

ROFLMAO
That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. I would never have been able to stop laughing long enough to hose them down.
I don't know what gets into kids sometimes...and 2-3 year olds...boy can they get into heaps of trouble. Yeah, when it's all quiet, that's when you KNOW there's gotta be some mischief going on
When my eldest was 3, he found our stash of condoms I realized he was missing so went upstairs and found a trail of them opened all over the floor. We buy the economy pack so there were lots for him to play with. At least it didn't leave a permanent mess, just an embarrassing one!
I know EXACTLY what you went through!! I have twin 3yr old boys and I can't count how many times they have sabatoged (sp?) one of my cakes.
I make a lot of Red Velvet cakes and they have goten red dye on them, it lasts for a few days but eventually comes out.
The picture of your son is priceless though!
Wow, that is amazing, my friend's daughter ate a container worth of leaf green while we were in cake class and her husband was watching the kids.... lets just say he freaked out... good thing he was not in your situation.
I've had similar happen to me only it wasn't frosting it was straight food coloring. God bless his little soul. You always know when they are too quiet that they must be up to something.
Your carpet is white. Before you replace it I'd try very hot water and Peroxide. First up peroxide on the spots let it set and rup it a bit. Then rinse it with really hot water. Do this a few times. I know it seems time consuming but it's alot cheaper than a new carpet(Especially with little ones---it probably won't be the last time.
Thanks for sharing.

Mother of 4 little ones, who get quiet every once in a while too.
That is so funny!! ROFLMHO thank you so much for sharing.... I love'd it. my daughter did something similar but we had tile and the softscrub did the trick. I sure hope you were able to get the pink out.. This will be great for his wedding rehersal dinner...
icing...$2.50
carpet cleaninings $60.
child covered in near permanent red dye - priceless.

HA! That is sooo funny!!! I called dh in to look at that we were both laughing so hard. Don't take this the wrong way, but it is so good to see other people also going through this kind of thing with kids. My three year old dd gets into stuff all the time!!!
cbone I aslo have twins... three year old girls. They have also ruined many cakes, frosting, flowers. I have seen them wearing red, pink, black! It just so funny.. that you can't even get mad.
One day when I was trying out the WASC receipe my daughter decided to help out. how??? she poured all of the salt into the mixer???? So.. maybe I should have baked it and renamed it to "White Almond Salt Cake". I was furious because I used my last two boxes of cake mix!!
Will my one year old also get the same sickeness??? lol
I didn't read the whole thread yet, so I dont kow if anyone suggestes this already, but they sell "Spot Shot" here in NY and it works AWESOME...gets out everything!
I really did get a good chuckle out of this one.
It reminds me of when my son was 2 1/2 and he was in his room playing for about 10 min, when it got really quiet...
I called him out to the living room (where I was ironing) and he only came to the end of hte hallway...
when I finally convinced him to come closer....I burst out laughing!!! (it was the only thing I could do).
He looked like Barney.....I just bought a brand new (Clinique) lipstick and he found it. He covered his entire mouth so that it went all the way around his nose. Amazingly enough, only a little bit on the bed and floor.
Children are just darn cute when they destroy things!!
Too funny! I've seen pics like this where kids have totally redecorated rooms in those fwd e-mails that most of us get from our friends. I wondered if they could be true. I guess they ARE!!! I hope someone gave you some tricks to get the color out of your carpet, AND off of your sons legs!
ROFLMAO!!
AAH - I laughted so hard I have tears! I have 4 teenagers now, but how I remember those days! All I could ever do was laugh because the damage was done, but I do pity you that lovely white carpet!
