Awwwwwwwwww... he is just too darn cute!! He can't even say he didn't do it as you caught him red-handed... not to mention red-faced... red-legged... etc. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Hope you both went easy on him once you calmed down... he probably thought he was helping you!

Thanks Chebean!! I just started back to work this week as a consultant after a 2+ year hiatus, and this was the kids' first week in daycare. Therefore, they both sucked up all the germs that they hadn't been exposed to like little human vaccuums, and now they are both sick with colds and pink-eye. Not fun.

But both are definitely doing better, just trying to balance working, baking, motherhood responsibilities, etc. Not so easy, as I've learned this week!!!

Try Folex on the carpet - I got out the stains from a corroded battery out after they had set for months.

That is funny - I have a 2 yr old and I know that 'it's too quiet' feeling!

The Magic Sponge by Mr. Clean removes everything..even pen and marker from wood doors. It'll definetly take it off of him, but try it on your carpets too!
Good Luck!

Your luck sounds like mine. When it rains, it pours!!!! Here is what happened to me here recently...

I made a Spongebob cake for a little girls birthday party. I was completely done with the cake and it was about 20 minutes before she was going to come pick it up (as she was on her way to the party). Well, I walked outside to my backyard to check on my kids and came back in and my 5 month old Lab had licked the entire side of the cake. He did not touch any cake. *The cake was sitting on my kitchen counter on a cake stand near the edge, so he was only able to reach it with his tongue* Anyway, I panicked... I cut some of the cake (the part he had licked on) repaired it like nothing ever happened. My friend pulled and I was not going to say anything (after all I SWEAR I got all puppy germs) and the minute the lady walked in ... my 5 year old son said, "My doggie licked your cake and it made my mommie scream and say ugly words to my doggie". LOL!!! Needless, to say she had to make a fast trip to Wal-Mart because she said she would not eat after a dog.
!@#$%^%^#^%$@!#$$

LOL !!!! LOL!!!

P.S. YES

That is too funny!! It reminds me of when my son was around that age[He is 31 now] he was in the living room crying and I went to see what was wrong and he was just sitting there with red all over his mouth and hands 'I was freaking out thinking he was bleeding, like he cut his tongue or something, so here I was trying to calm him down,[I think he thought he was bleeding too, cause he was looking at his hands]I was cleaning him up trying to figure out where he was cut and caught a big whiff of KOOLAID!!!!!He got a pack of cherry koolaid and was eating it!!LOL!!!!

oh my goodness LOL he's just too cute with the little grin

as for the carpet. OxyClean is the best stuff in the world. Get the water as HOT as possible and add oxyclean and still till totally evaporated. either spray with a bottle or just dip a rag in and get the carpet pretty wet, let it sit for a while then scrub with soap and water.
i had red icing all over a shirt not too long ago and i soaked it in oxyclean and the shirt looks brand new
good luck

Ok, that reminds me of the time my friend's 2 year old woke up in the middle of the night, got a can of chocolate frosting and proceeded back to the bedroom where she frosted the mattress from her baby bed (it was on the floor as they were transitioning to the toddler bed in the next room). After frosting the mattress, she set her dolls and stuffed animals around the mattress "cake" - she even put some party hats on some of them. Then the little darling went and slept on the sofa. Her mom sure had a big surprise when she found the "party" waiting for her the next morning!!!

My daughter did that with a jar of blueberry jam. I found her on my white couch, yes i said white, and she had smeared it all over her legs, face, hands, arms, couch cushions and pillows. Luckily it didnt stain. I used Spot Shot and Oxyclean for laundry. You should try that before you replace it your rug.

How funny...sorry, though. LOL He looked so cute and guilty... I hope this works for you ( I don't know about w/ red dye but I've gotten lots of things out including oil);I use peroxide for stains. It works on carpet and clothes and doesn't change the original color of the garment or carpet. Thanks for sharing the giggle at your carpet's expense. icon_lol.gif

Too funny. Sorry about the carpet. I needed this after the day I have had. Anyway, I also wanted to add a funny story,

My nephew was about 2, my brother put him down for a nap. When my brother woke up things were as you said "too quiet." He went into my nephew's room who had the nesquick powder out shaking it all over the floor. My brother was horrified. He asked what was going on and my nephew said "you know that powder you put on the carpet and it makes the house smell pretty? Well, I wanted my room to smell like chocolate."

How could he be mad except that it took weeks to get all the sticky powdered chocolate out of the carpet. We still laugh about it though.

Just think you will have great story to share for years and years.

Best of luck to you with the carpet.

You icon_lol.gif poor icon_lol.gif thing icon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif That is "knee-slapping" funny!

Just think of how many times we decorators look at a blank canvas of icing and turn it into something beautiful. He saw a blank canvas and created you a priceless gift icon_lol.gif (hopefully it won't end up being an expensive priceless gift icon_lol.gif ). But then again, his timing may be perfect for that new wood floor thumbs_up.gif

Well now you have a photo for the back pages of the yearbook for when he's a Senior in high school!! Very cute! When my kids were that age I wanted a concrete floor w/a drain in the middle so I could just hose it down at the end of the day, and plastic trash-bag clothes that could be torn off and thrown away at bedtime (for me!). They're 17 and 19 now, enjoy those early years, they go by so quickly!! icon_smile.gif

Try Spot Shot or Out they are both for cleaning stains and I have had great results with both. Spot Shot has gotten red jello out of my beige carpet-it is with the cleaning supplies. Out is also great on everything--got rust out of fabric--it is in the pet section at walmart on a lower shelf. It says it is for pet stains, but we used it when my son was a baby for spit up, and everything else you could think of!

Good call on the Spot Shot it works miracles. My ex "tossed his cookies" on a nice rug of mine. Those cookies just happened to be tomato sauce and chinese food. To make a long story short Spot Shot took the stain out. I will remove blood as well and we know how difficult blood can be to remove.

If the other cleaning suggestions don't work, you may want to try to dilute some dishwasher soap in water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray, rub and blott out. (I find it best to quote "Children are a gift from God" while doing this). Follow with the steamer to get any excess dishwasher soap out of the carpet, as too much may remove color from the fabric. I've found dishwasher soap to be great for kids clothes that get covered in food ... I fill a sink with water and a little dishwasher soap, let it dissolve and presoak really stained items in it before throwing it in the washer. I imagine it would work on carpet too.

You've just reminded me how happy I am that my kids are 8 and 10. Still little devils, but on a much less messy level. I just got laid off and I am at home with them and reminds me why I go to work for peace and quiet!!!

I don't know if I would have taken the red all over the carpet as well as all of you guys, I definitely wouldn't be laughing.. I'd be crying!

I have blacked out most of my kids baby years, but I will say that I invested in my own carpet cleaner. It was $300 and I've had it for 7 years and it still cleans up their dirt footprints from the carpet. Worth every penny!!!!

Good luck getting the red out! icon_surprised.gif

I buy commercial strength cleaner/degreaser (either from Costco or Cash & Carry) and put that in my carpet cleaner. It gets EVERYTHING out. You just need to run over it again once or twice with just water to make sure you get all the chemicals (and smell) out afterward.

Ah the JOYS that little boys bring! LOL I'm sorry about your carpet AND your little man's legs! LOLOLOLOL Sorry, I just can't stop laughing!

In two minutes, my 2 year old twins stripped off all their clothing, climbed up on the chest of drawers and FRONT MOONED everyone driving down my street! Luckily a neighbor across the street called (laughing hysterically) and she will NEVER let them live it down! They are 28 yrs old June 18!

Trust me, a carpet (while expensive) is a thing that won't last forever, but, your MEMORIES will!

Best of luck with the carpet and the legs!! LOLOLOLOL Sorry!
