Gumpaste/fondant...whats The Differance?

Just wondering what the differance is between the two. I have worked with fondant but never gumpaste.

Gumpaste it is like concrete. Once it dries it could break a tooth. Been told tastes like concrete as well.......

yes, gumpaste is not too yummy, but it makes the most beautiful flowers! I know you can make flowers with fondant too, I have never done that though...I love the way gumpaste flowers look! i am a huge fan of marshmallow fondant (find the recipe in the recipes index here on CC) - it tastes MUCH better than the wilton fondant and is nice to work with.

you can use both for flowers. Gumpaste dries faster and harder and you can roll it thinner without tearing. I like to mix the two the fondant keeps it softer a little longer for working with but the gumpaste makes it dry harder.
