Hi,

I have a friend who is looking for a cake decorator who can make her son's birthday cake (4yo). Anyone from Sydney who is interested? please e-mail me your contact details and webpage. Not sure what kind of cake she wants........

I am sort of thinking about making it. but it's possible I will NOT end up making it as Dh will be away most of next week, and there wont be anyone looking after my child. But I am still going to think about 'how to make the bowling theme cake' anyway............just for curiousity sake. Also, I can pass your ideas on to my friend so she can use the ideas for the cake decorator.

If it was going to be a 3D cake, with just one 3D pin lying on the side and a ball next to it, how would you make the pin and the ball? Assume the ball is made of using 2 dolly cake tins and join 2 halves together? what about the pin? meat loaf tin, since it's cylindrical, and shape one end into the pin top (like a bottle top)?

Thanks in advance.

I bought a 3d bowling pin pan on ebay, I've seen them on there since than also. It's a retired mold so that's the only place that I could find one.
If you can get one they're great to use for wine bottle cakes too!

I did a bowling cake for my son's 5th birthday and don't have the exact picture of his but here is one very similar.
