I followed the recipe to the direct instructions..it came out very runny and very hard to work with. I have never had this problem before. It wasn't the normal consistincy or anything. Does heat and humidity play a part in this? I love the icing but was just having the most difficult time with it yesterday.

Humidity plays a big role in how much liquid to add. Start by adding only 1/2 to 3/4 of liquid. You can always thin it. You can always sift in more powdered sugar if the icing is too thin.
