I got my Wilton's 2007 Yearbook (Michael's on sale for $7.99!) and noticed a lot of the cookies are decorated with candy melts. Some really cute stuff, I might add! I have never decorated with candy-melts mostly because I don't want to buy all the candy-melt colorings. I know Americolor sells the solution to make their colors chocolate-friendly but the parts-to-parts amounts sound confusing to me.
I'm wondering, I have never used the powder colorings but can you use them on candy-melts??
kos
I have tried doing the cookies with candy melt and did not like the way they turned out. They got really soft like and did not stay on my sticks after i decorated them.
Just my opinion.
I have not tried decorating cookies with candy melts, but could definitely see how they could possibly melt.....it seems if I look wrong at anything I've made with candy melts, they well, melt!
I always use candy melts on my spritz cookies at Christmas.
I prefer the Clasen brand to Wilton IMO, especially the colorful ones. The Wilton light and dark coating is fine.
Here is what they look like, nothing fancy, but they taste really good and freeze beautifully when done and decorated. I hope I get this picture right.
Sorry, can't get the picture to attach I guess
