Well, I have an order for an America's Next Top Model cake. They don't want FBCT. They said hat if at all possible, they would like it to resemble a Runway. Oh and not just a runway on top of like a sheet cake. So I am at a lost for ideas. Luckily the cake isn't due until August. But I looked in the gallery and came up with nothing. Any ideas??? I figured I know someone on here could help. I have my fingers crossed. icon_confused.gificon_confused.gif I was thinking about tring to construct some kind of runway, but what would I hold it up with?

why not make 2 cakes and have a gumpaste runway connecting the 2 ... ir just carve a runway out of cake connectingthe other 2 cakes together .... that is the firstthing that came to mind right now that givesthem a runway but not just a runway ontop a cake ..... maybe one cake can be the stairsteh girls stand on and the runway can connect to the judging cake with a judging table?

What about a runway in the middle with the stage in back..like a "T" (some type of cardboard backdrop with America's Next top model sign & curtains) and little fondant heads like people sitting beside the stages watching the show. Do you get it...I can try to explain it better. The heads might be a little work with the different hairstyles and all but that's what came to my mind. Maybe I'm putting too much into it...how basic does the design need to be or how much are you charging icon_lol.gif That would be my determining factor LOL LOL

Ok this might look really dumb, but maybe you could do something like this drawing. An offset layer forming the body of the hat and the brim flipping up in the back, and cascading in the front. Feather or some such in the flipped part, and use the brim for the runway. Cover it in shimmer and edge the cake in "flood lights". Have the body of the hat covered in an edible decal picture of the America's next Top Model judges panel, facing the brim aka runway. Then have some very small gumpaste models in various outfits on different places on the runway. Maybe the hat decorations on the flip of the brim could have the shows name on it......Just some thoughts to get your juices going! By the way...I'm a terrible artist so I hope you get what I was going for! Good luck!!

Now I went from no ideas to too many, Sike icon_biggrin.gif. Thank you all I will present her with these ideas and if she doesn't like any of them then I will be back. icon_smile.gif Just kidding I'm sure one of these will be fine.
