I think I may have cracked the Sugarveil recipe......Maybe - Page 11

so I take it you use this with the sugarveil molds or mats. I guess we have to order those on line because I didn't see it in the stores here where I live. I am anxious to try this. Thanks for sharing.

Yes you can use the molds, I ordered mine from over seas, and they are TONS cheaper here at this ladies Etsy store.  I got this mold, and the rose lace mold.  They look like the same as sugar veil molds.  They took a couple weeks to get, but they are perfect.

This looks great! Can you tell me if your version is able to be piped? I have a custom design that I need to pipe and be flexible. I have ordered some actual SugarVeil, but wanted to practice with something before it gets here.

Yes you can pipe with it also!

Can sugarveil be used on buttercream iced cakes instead of fondant? I don't do fondant yet,but I love the lace look.

I am not too sure, however you would think that the buttercream would be a bit too "wet" for the sugar veil.  I would not suggest it, as too much water or moisture on the

sugar veil will melt it.

Was it easy to use?  I've heard the sugarveil is very difficult and I'm wondering how often you've used it before?

SugarVeil Icing Yes, you can use SugarVeil on any surface - with a moist fingertip, dampen a few places on the back of the SugarVeil decoration, and it will adhere to any surface.

This is the reply from sugarveil posted to me on facebook.
