My friend wants a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. Any opinions on which of these two recipes is better (Peanut butter mousse vs. peanut butter cup filling)? The mousse sounds better to me, but I always doubt myself so I thought I would ask!

The mousse with chocolate chunks or pb cups mixed in icon_wink.gif

Honestly though, the peanut butter mousse would give a better "peanut" flavour where as the peanut butter cup would only give a hint if you happen to get a piece.

Mousse all the way!

I'm guessing the mousse has to be refrigerated. How about the Peanut Butter Cup filling? They both sound delish!

The peanut butter filling has of course peanut butter, but also butter. I don't think it is terribly perishable but I would refrigerate the cake and bring it to room temperature about an hour before serving.

I made the mousse and paired it with the Darn Good Chocolate Cake recipe (also on this site). The combination was delicious! I highly recommend this combo. Now, I've got to find a reason to try the peanut butter cup filling because that sounds awesome too!

I have used the Peanut Butter Mousse and love it with Chocolate Cakes. My problem and I need someone to let me know. Has anyone ever frozen the left over Mousse? I am afraid I went overboard and need to store some for about two weeks.
