What a day! I wanted to decorate a cake today, no reason, just cause. didnt do it. Dh and I are into it (everyone fights sometime, right?) I have been cleaning out closets(is what I do when im upset, clean) Anna has a cold, (cranky 11 month old) and my 4yo has been calling me all day to come and get him from his granny's. (for some reason he jsut does not like her) (I dont think he should have to go, but DH does, thus, the fight) I have to pick up the girls (step kids) in 45 minuites and I dont have a thing to cook, so I am going to have to go to the store. (cause the fridge is out ) My mind is on auto pilot, I cant even get into my kitchen right now cause of all of the sstuff going up into the attic ( when DH gets home, cant get the darn think to open!) I NEED something really easy and simple to cook, and ideas, my family isent picky eaters, (cept for DH and his meal will be mosstly hidden choco laxetives anyway)

IF YOU DINT WANT TO READ ME WHINING, SKIP IT AND GO HERE...
Brain fried, need food, easy fast....

Did I mention that I havent even eaten today?

hamburgers / hot dogs on BBQ (make him cook!) potato chips and store bought potato salad.

make your own sandwiches (cold cuts and tomatoes, onions, condiments)

take out! (chinese, pizza, KFC/Zaxby's, etc.)

with fresh fruit -- pick up a watermelon

let the 4yo pick..his reward for going to grammas

First of all, you need to eat. Trust me, it does wonders for how you're feeling. Umm, dinner, if they are not picky just pick up some sub sandwiches, chips, lemonade. I can get subs at the local grocery, maybe yours will have them. Also at the grocery are roasted and fried chicken, if you want something more hearty, get some of those Lipton noodle packs to go with, heat some green beans and voila, dinner. Of course the fave stand by is pizza. Those are all easy options. HTH, I know how you feel. If you go to the store pick up a little something special just for you, candy bar or something. icon_biggrin.gif

Oh sweetie, my heart goes out to you. I can SO relate. Wish I were next door so I could bring you a nice kid-friendly casserole and a loaf of fresh yummy garlic bread (comfort food, you know).

If it helps at all, today seems to have been a really rough day for a lot of people, myself included.

I always go for a quick tuna salad or sandwich when I need brain food -- or even a hunk of cheese or a boiled egg or two. Will the kids eat tuna? Or can you buy them a pizza? Our local grocery store has some pretty darn good sushi prepared fresh daily by a local chef, lately -- that's good brain food, too, if you can get it.

How about mac-n-cheese for the kids? Or heck -- PB&J's!

And I love your idea about ex-lax for your DH icon_wink.gif

Hang in there ...

we have a corny thread in the lounge named WHAT'S FOR SUPPER???, so whenever you decide what to have let us know

it's about supper time here so if you have to go spend money at the store, i'd do take-out pizza, etc. & if take-out isn't an option, sandwiches....& if your dear darling hubby is like mine & won't eat sandwiches WELLLLLLLLLL do like doug said & let him grill!!!!!!

Hey Shelain22.
I just wanted to tell you that I hope that your dinner was a good one.Hugs to you , your kids and those awesome step kids.Ohhh, did the Xlax thing to my DH once.then hot pepper powder in his lunch sandwhiches. Then I refused to talk about it.Too funny, but I know how hard it gets at times.Hang in there.Have a good weekend.A tip though.I keep comfort casseroles and such in the freezer for days like that.We all have them, trust me.So you might want to give that a try. Then just get buns or as was mentioned, some garlic bread.Just nuke and done! Hugs.
