Can Royal Icing Stand Up?

My son is having his b-day party next weekend. hes having Dora dora dora the explorer.. lol gotta say the whole thing!!

Im think of doing a 2 tiered cake.... and doing each character out of royal icing.. then sticking the caracters around the cake, standing up?
do you think that will work?

Yes but if they are large you will need a support on the back like picture frame has

I did it years ago and after the color flow dried I turned it over and put sever popsicle sticks on it and then glued and covered with more color flow. Then the popsicle sticks went into the cake not the color flow which would have softened

You know.. i dont know why i put royal icing.. LOL! i meant color flow.. cant i do pretty much the same thing w/ royal icing though?

Yes .. And the other thing you can do is make it smaller... Remember the thinner the easier its going to break.... for the most part...
