While taking my Wilton class, I had two major disasters. The first was the first that we had made. I had made icing for 5 hours that day and iced my cake perfectly. While taking my cake into the class, the bottom of my cake carrier fell out, and my perfectly iced cake fell straight on the parking lot. I was so furious during the whole class.icon_cry.gif

The second mistake that I made was using diet margarine instead of butter. Usually we have butter in the fridge, but apparently this time it was diet. Which is made of mostlyt water, so I had very very runny icings which only seemed to get runnier as the class went on. Lesson learned!

Dropped the cake? You almost made me cry for you. icon_cry.gif I would be devestated!!! But I must ask - did it land cake side up so that it was at least edible? icon_rolleyes.gif I really hope things take a big upswing for you. Good luck!! thumbs_up.gif

Poor thing! I can imagine how devastated you were when you looked down. Was there a cake left for class?

Diet butter. Does not sound appetizing somehow.......

I'm afraid the cake was totally unedible, the bottom just went out (terrible clasps) and made a horrible squish when the icing hit the asphalt. I kinda hovered over the cake during the class and then just threw it in the trash as soon as class was done. Also, diet butter = horrible.
