I just got a call from someone to do a luau arty for her daughter. Its 35 girls and around 20 women. She wants cupcakes. I am limited on some ideas b/c of the weather. Its a pool party on June 10th so it may be really hot. I am meeting with her thursday and wanted to bring soem ideas. I thought about Hula girls as a cupcake. Or one big hula girl and do cupcakes with pineapples and sand and umbrella and htings like that around it. But then I thought about a cupcake cake. I never made one but it sounds like it could work. So i am in need of soem suggestions, i have not done a cake in almost 5 months, (was horribly sick at the beg. of my preg. then i broke my wrist) so my ideas are slow.
Any ideas on luau theme cupcakes would be great. thanks

You could do cupcakes and decorate each one with a hibiscus flower, then arrange the cupcakes to look like a lei.

I've done the hula girls and they're very cute. Not sure if there's any type of budget, but want to throw this out, but keep in mind you'd need to spend a bit of money to have enough doll picks for 30+ cupcakes.

Good luck!

I f you look in my pics. My daughter inlaw had a luau themed shower. I had sandel cake and hibiscus flower cupcakes. With flower cookies in bright colors.
Sea shells on top of sandy cupcakes would be cute.
Or a tiki cake with hibiscus cuupcakes

My daughter is having a luau sweet sixteen party in June. I am planning to bake cupcakes. The cupcakes will be white cake with white icing covered in finely ground graham crackers (for sand), and I am placing a white chocolate shell on each cupcake that I am making using a shell candy mold. I did a test run, and I used my students at school as my test panel. They loved the cupcakes. In fact, they wanted me to make them again. You could always vary the kind of cake you want to use. I thought they didn't look too girlish, but definitely gave you a feeling of a luau. I hope this helps.

That sounds like its really pretty Bev55. icon_smile.gif I saw someone on here that applied dust to the shells too it adds a nice touch.
You will have to post the results. Summer is the time for great partys with lots of cake ! icon_biggrin.gif
