Hi Ladies!!!

I prepared buttercream last week and did not use it. I am going to make a cake for my friends son class and was wondering if the buttercream is useable. It has been stored in the fridge the entire time. Thanks in advance icon_smile.gif

I'm not 100% sure but I use as a reference the earliest date that any ingredient would expire when kept in the fridge as the cut off date for my butter cream icing, however if you have any doubts dont use it.

If I remember correctly, the Wilton buttercream (half butter/half shortening) can be stored in the fridge for two weeks. Jodie

This may be a stupid question...but when you freeze your icing, do you just put in airtight container or double bag and then throw in freezer?
This is a great idea, but want to make sure I do correctly.
I LOVE freezing cakes, it save so much time!!!! Thanks!
