I just can't decide. Now that I have burned out 2 mixers I need to buy a good one. Is it safe to buy a refurbished one to save some money? I really don't have the money to spend but the way I am going through mixers it will prob be worth it. I do know I want one with all metal parts! I am looking at these ones:

Hummmm.... That "other" brand mixer icon_lol.gif comes in a 7qt model also, but the Heavy-Duty 828W-980W Motors are bigger on both the 5qt. and 7qt than the 575W 6qt. kitchenaid.

But that is a very good price on the kitchenaid too. http://www.jr.com/OMBasketDetail.process?RestartFlow=t&OMProductId=2650092&PEEK=BOO&AddToBasket.x=48&AddToBasket.y=8
Is there anybody out there that could comment on the delonghi?
Boy, I don't know...I love my kitchenaid(6qt. Epicurean) but I have to say we sure could've used a 7qt. many a time.

I have the Delongi 7 quart and haven't had any problems with it. I also have a 4-1/2 qt. Kitchenaid. The Delonghi isn't as heavy as the Kitchenaid but it gets the job done. Check out various reviews on the Delonghi before deciding.

I did the same thing you did mjones17 .. I burned up 3 mixers (an old small model; 2 Sunbeam's that was on a stand and came with a glass bowl).. I probably spent more on these 3 mixers than I would have had I just invested in my Kitchenaid .. I love mine and wouldn't take anything for it .. the only thing I wish is that I had a larger bowl .. I know it'll stretch your pocketbook, but it is really worth the investment... I have used mine sooooooooooo much and it hasn't given me one bit of probs at all ... good luck with whatever one you decide to buy icon_smile.gif

Just so you know, Kitchen Aid has great service. I bought a refurbished red professional and within six months the motor started "clicking"...I called them and there was a new one at my door in two days, and they came back in a week to get my broken one. This problem of the motor making a clicking sound is one of the first signs of a problem, and when you work with icing, for some reason it REALLY is hard on a mixer, even KA. I have two KAs and wouldn't get rid of them for the world in my home, but look forward to the day when a floor model Hobart stands in my shop!

BTW, I also grind wheat with my KA attachment for bread making, and love that feature as well. They are a sound company...

Happy Shopping! Shawn <><
