THis is for a large company party. It is a summer potluck, and my customer signed up for a desert and then called me. I am having a hard time thinking of anything other than a picnic blanket with fondant "food". Can you think of anything? I have all creative control here, because she just said that it needs to be "summer, picnicky". HELP??

What about making a picnic basket with fondant food coming out of the top? Make a tall oval cake and decorate with basketweave on the outside?

I think a red and white checked picnic blanket with gumpast plates, fondant food and ants would be really cute! You could make silverware from gumpaste dusted wit hsilver luster dust too.

Check my pics. I made a watermelon cake for my twins a few years ago....easy and really cool. Almost fooled everyone into thinking it was the real thing when I carried it out!

Good luck!

I made a slice of watermelon cake that turned out pretty cool. It's in my photos (if the link below doesn't work). I made it from a red velvet cake so it was even red on the inside!
