I know I have read on this site about cake pricing software. Can someone tell me the name of it, or where to download a demo? TIA!

You may be referring to CakeBoss -- you can watch a demo at the link in my signature! icon_smile.gif

I think that cakeboss software is a great idea, but considering it's aimed at small business' or hobbiests, it's pretty ridiculous to charge $60 every year!

I hope I can find something exactly the same, but from a cheaper place.

You can pay monthly if that helps (it did help me). There is also a discount for CC members!

I don't see why a hobbiest would need that software. CakeBoss is well worth the money they charge. I really believe they thought about the price and the structure of pricing long and hard before charging it. From what I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong Kelley) the reason they are doing the subscription is so we can have their AWESOME Tech Support and always have the most up-to-date version with all the new gizmos and gadgets. thumbs_up.gif Which personally I think is awesome! Plus there's a 20% discount (for the first year) for us CCers which brings it to $48 for the whole year! That's $4 a month... I definitely don't think $4/month is ridiculous at all! thumbs_up.gificon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

It's a wonderful software program for anyone that needs to keep everything in line and needs help with pricing (hobbiest or small business)! Thank you Kelley and Husband (sorry don't know his name icon_surprised.gif ) for making it!

There is also a free Excel program that Alice put together. It's pinned at the top of one of these forums (Cake Matrix). It will help you figure out costs, but it doesn't do all the fancy stuff that CakeBoss does! (calendar, invoices, etc.).

I hope you find something that suits your needs.

I want to try cakeboss as soon as I get a laptop. I bake cakes from home and still work full time. I think I could really use cakeboss just to keep up with my orders. I have made mistakes in the past just writing orders on paper, with this softwear I could key in the order and read it back or show it to the customer to verify. The cost is not bad at all. I could buy a laptop and cakeboss with my cake money. icon_smile.gif

i use solar accounts software for my business and i suggest you too to use that. It is good and have all good features which a premium software must have. It is of $200 and you can use it for multiple purpose.
