Okay, I did it. I knew better. I put WAY too much icing color in a cake wanting a color that I knew I wouldn't get until the icing dried. I called the lady for a follow up today and she said she couldn't even eat the icing it was so gross. javascript:emoticon('icon_cry.gif')

All I could do was to offer her a discount next time but I doubt she'll be returning.

Why, oh why do I do this to myself???

oh sorry cathy. I think this has happened to just about everyone. I've done the same thing, start to color, "oh I think it needs more", "just a bit more" - then the next thing you know you've got beautifully bright icing that no one wants to touch. best of luck and don't worry you'll be more cautious next time. Like I said, this happens, don't beat yourself up about it. icon_smile.gif

I know red coloring can make icing taste bitter if you don't use the right kind/brand name. I'm so sorry this happened to you! We learn from our mistakes!
