I just found this recipe. It is called Candy Dough.

It is: 4T. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar

*mix w/ fork until stiff. Continue to mix w/ hands until it is like playdough.

I think this looks like it would be great to make decorations with, but would like to know if anyone has used it, what you think about it, and if so any tips about using it.

thanks.

Sounds interesting.... Never have used it. Kinda like a really thick frosting. I would think that it would work fine.

I believe it is an alternative to Marzipan, which is also referred to as candy dough. You can shape with it, cut it with cookie cutters and even color it. Here is a smiliar recipe, if not the same;

from clare crespo's recipe in hey there, cupcake

4 tbs evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar

mix until it's a dough, then add food coloring. (knead it in with your hands) note: you might have to add more evap milk.

Is this like candy clay or something totally different? I've never heard of it.....

imartsy- I have never actually tried the recipe, but my impression is that it is more like play-doh.
