Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I never heard of lemon curd and I'm not quite sure what it is.
Thanks.
Lemon Curd is a filling made with corn starch, lemon and I think an egg, it is a pudding and is used as a filling. I like the recipe on the corn starch box.
It is found with the jams & jellies in some supermarkets.....tastes like lemon meringue pie filling to me!!
So, when a recipe calls for lemon curd, you make the lemon curd separately and then add it to the rest of the recipe?

Oh, that's great. Now it makes sense to me. Thanks!
Lemon curd is an exquisite concoction of lemon, butter, sugar and eggs. The best recipes do not have cornstarch. It is rich and buttery and a bit tart. This is often served with scones. It can be used straight, mixed with whipped cream, or blended into buttercream for a great filling.
There are also other fruits made into curd, such as lime and berries.
You can buy it ready made, but made from scratch is heaven.

Okay, you have convinced me. Would you share the heavenly scratch recipe?
Here is a link to a great recipe. I have used several different versions, each has lemon, butter, eggs, sugar in a various proportions. All I have tested have been wonderful. I was reading an article today that someone froze the leftovers, and found it was even more divine. hmmm where did I put that lemon....
