I need your input. I just completed 325 cupcakes for a b'not mitvah (twins). The catering director at the country club wants me to charge for my time on top of the $1.50 per cupcake. I've never really charged separately for time. I guess I always kind of incorporate it into the cost. I must mention that I live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio and the club is one of the most upscale clubs in central Ohio. What have some of you charged for your time?

I know of a few high-end cake decorators who charge a basic price for basic flavors, a premium price for premium flavors, then charge by the hour for decoration.

What you would charge per hour would be dependent upon what type of decorations you will be using. What is your plan for them?
