Too funny.... Did you do anything else to the cake or just replace the water with the creamer??

All of it!! I also add an xtra egg to dense it up a bit as the creamer has ALLOT of fat in it and otherwise the cakes are too flimsy and soft. These make AWESOME cupcakes for bouquets and cookies (for drop cookies).

Every Christmas I go run out to every store within a 20 mile radius and buy out the Coffee Mate Holiday flavors (peppermint, gingerbread, egg nog, sugar cookie...I'm not kidding either, i've become addicted icon_surprised.gif ). I freeze them so I can have them whenever I want. I just remove it from the freezer, place in the fridge to thaw out (usually over night), shake them up well before each use and they're good to go. Now that I have learned the art of adding them to my cakes, I'll buy every flavor known to man!!!!

I think I am going to try replacing all the liquid (water and oil) with the creamer (so that would be replacing 1/2 c water and a 1/3 cup oil to make it 3/4 c of creamer and 4 eggs...). Maybe the cake will be more dense, but still yummy.

I must try this, never have but must! Do any of your sale your cakes and if so what does replacing the water and adding the flavoring do to your costs? I am not a coffee drinker so I never buy the stuff, is it expensive, or totally worth it?

I think it will be worth while (once I really get into the selling of my wares) because it offers a competitive edge that others (store bakeries, non CC users...hahahahaha) dont have. Lots of repeat customrers as you will find they like certain flavors and will probably always request that one...so STOCK UP!!! Buy in bulk and buy the large containers, that way its more worth your $$.

so what is a right price for this stuff? Like I said I never buy it, do I buy the liquid kind and if the recipe calls for 1 1/4 cups of water I do that with the creamer? Also, do you chill it once you open it? Is it in the coffee isle or the cold isle.... I may sound silly, but I don't drink coffee so I don't know... soda is my caffeine vice.

In my grocery store they sell it in the isle with the milk, cheeses, sour cream. I have only bought the powdered kind so far, but being it is in the fridge isle, I would guess it has to stay in the fridge=) The powdered kind was about 3.50, so I am guessing the liquid is close to that price. Ohhh and go to coffeemate website, I think they still have the coupon for a free one. You fill it out and they send you the coupon for liquid or powder kind. Got mine in like a week! Jen

I find it in the case next to the milk, sour creams and yogurts. Once opened, keep in fridge, lasts for a couple of weeks. Freeze unopened creamers (dont refreeze once open). I usually find the large sizes (2 for $5) at Wally World or Safeway.

Did you know that you can do the same thing with a room temp can of soda pop!! (not freezing I mean, but adding it to your cake mixes!!) So many new things!!!!

Ok.. I just signed up for my coupon.... did you know they had blueberry cobbler flavor? That sounds like it would be soooo good in a yellow cake, what kind of icing flavor could i use in my BC though?

I'm so jealous! I called ID in Canada they said due to lack of shelf space they can only provide the most popular flavours - vanilla, hazelnut, butter pecan and that's about it. How boring is that...I want all the flavours!

When you plug in your zip to find the store that carries the coffee mate flavor you want (on the coffee meate website, oh and BTW if you live near an Albertsons...THEY HAVE THEM ALL!!), the option of going to the above website come up...its pretty cool.

I have replaced all the liquid with the exact matching amount of coffee creamer and then added an extra egg to the mix (used DH white cake mix with Creme Brule...to die for!).

I am SOOOO going to baking a TON of cupcakes this week.

I went out and got the blueberry, ameretto, prailenes and cream and white chocolate raspberry. Im going to even add these to my frostings!

sorry for the continuous dumb questions but dont want to screw it up icon_redface.gif

you are replacing all of the water and the oil?
doesnt the cake taste or texture seem wrong with no oil?

Sometimes I replace ALL the liquid (including the oil) with the creamer, because the fat content in the creamer is like a replacement, that why I add the extra egg. Other times, I only replace the water and use only the 3 eggs required. Depends on my mood and if I feel like going up into my pantry for the oil...lol.

I knew about the can of soda. Been doing that since I've been a Weight Watcher.

1 12 oz. can diet soda ( I use gingerale) with ANY cake mix.

Mix together and bake. No eggs, no oil, no water. About 100 cal for a 2" square or 2 Weight Watcher Points.

I use diet coke with brownie mix (family size) to make fat free diet brownies!!
