I have only done one cookie bouquet that was a gift for my sister-in-law. I have a paid order to do and need it to be perfect, because of course their paying for it. Anyway, I am most nervous about the cookies breaking off the sticks. I will be making butter cookies, which are a bit softer than some cookies. Any suggestions on how to keep the cookies from breaking off the sticks?

Make them thick enough (I roll mine out to 1/2" thick for cookie bouquets; it's the equivalent to a regular CD case and one of the thinner kind stacked on top of each other) and push the stick into the cookie as far as you can without it coming out the top or distorting the shape.
