My bride wants to surprise her groom with a very special cake. He designs video games and I guess does a lot of stuff for Nintendo. She wants 2 Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP's, one representing the bride and one for the groom. She was thinking one in pink and the other in blue or maybe one in black and the other in white, she's not sure of any of that. She is totally looking for my opinion on this and I'm not sure what to tell her, or how to make them even.

Those little flip screens have me worried the most. I was thinking of maybe doing 2 of these things and making them look just like they would in real life but sculpting a groom and bride out of fondant and put them on top of the cakes, maybe having them leaning towards each other for a kiss?

I guess I could do one in black and write Groom across the screen and the other in white with Bride on it.

Any ideas on the design would be wonderful.

As for the construction Im at a total loss. She wants mud cake and since its so darn rich she only wants small cakes (which is why she wants 2 of these things instead of one big one).

If anyone has any advice Id really appreciate it. The wedding isnt until this fall so Ive got time but she wants a response soon.

Maybe you could make the games out of gumpaste for the cake tops. It seems as if it would be pretty simple given the shape (2 squares). Here is a pic from the gallery of a gameboy cake. Maybe it will give you an idea. Sorry I cant be of more help.
