I am wondering if you prefer the Wilton clear vanilla or the McCormicks clear vanilla?

I was also looking at the butter flavoring and the Wilton brand is clear, but the McCormicks bottle didn't say. If I remember correctly the McCormicks isn't clear.

I like others such as Baron or more unique companies. Wilton is alright but not enough flavor for me.

I just bought a bottle of McCormicks vanilla and it said clear on the box. I bought it at Wal-Mart and it was the last bottle.

firefighterwife, I am sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant I don't remember if McCormick's butter flavoring is clear. I am aware of McCormick having a clear vanilla. I wanted opinions on whether McCormicks or Wilton is preferable for taste. I appreciate you taking the time to respond though.

Wilton Clear Vanilla is immitation (artificial) and McCormick is pure. (at least the one in our store..and twice the price!) Immatation Vanilla is made from wood and paper, and pure is made from real vanilla bean. So there will be a difference in taste! Its up to you really how much taste you want.

The butter flavoring has a slight color to it, but not enough to really affect your frosting..

loriemoms,

Thank you for the website on vanilla. My local grocery store carries McCormicks Pure Vanilla and McCormicks Clear Imitation Vanilla. I was wanting to compare the McCormicks and Wilton clear imitation vanillas.

McCormicks is stronger and my DH says it always tastes better when I use it instead of Wilton. If you want a strong vanilla taste McCormick is your best bet.

I like to buy CK Products whenever I can. They are very affordable compared to Wilton prices.
