If someone else has already mentioned this please forgive the duplicate information. I was too excited to look through the forums to see if anyone has already mentioned the Wilton sale at Michael's.

All Wilton character pans are $6.99 each. Compared to the regular price of $11.99, I think that's a fantastic deal. The sale goes on through June 3rd. This doesn't include the 3D pans such as the wonder mold, 3D Duck & Bear.

Just wanted all of my fellow cake bakers to know of this fabulous sale especially if you need more character shaped pans.

Happy shopping! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Yes that is a good deal.

I forgot to mention that I got the house cake pan for only $6.49 with my 50% coupon and it is usually $12.99. On Wednesday I will go back to get a few more pans b/c you just can't beat that price. I've been wanting a Dora the Explorer pan for a while.

I got the Dora pan, the mini wonder mold and the 12 inch round.

I used 50% off for the tilting cake stand (usually $60) and for my course 3 kit.

I may go back tomorrow...

I miss Michael's soooo much. When I lived in Washington I took my cake classes there and always went to the sales and used the 50% off coupons. We don't have one here, it's soo sad. I'm living vicariously (sp???) through you guys. icon_smile.gif Have some extra fun for me.

Today I used the 50% off coupon on the 17 Piece Fondant Set, which comes with the 9-inch contour pan I've been wanting. Came out to $12.50, and the price of the pan alone is normally $11.99!

I was going to use it on the 4 piece round cake pan set, but they were all sold out! But I did have my 40% coupon for Joanne's, and it was the same price there, so I bought the set there instead. So now I have my 40% coupon for Michael's leftover to use sometime this week.

My mom got the plain tool caddy for 50% off, since we have all of our tips and everything we didn't really need the deluxe caddy, so it was only $10!

So where exactly do you pic up the 50% coupon? Do they have them located at the front of the store? Any restrictions on what you can buy or how many things you can buy?

The coupons were in the Michaels flyer in the Sunday paper. I get 4 papers delivered, so I dragged hubby with me to the store both yesterday and today.

I got Course 2 box, Course 3 box, Gumpaste flower kit and the empty tool caddy, all 50% off.

I think I am set for a while, I finish course 1 this Friday and head straight into Course 2 and then Course 3. The dates aren't decided yet, but the instructor is giving a Gumpaste Flower class this summer that I want to take, so I got the Gumpaste flower kit for that.

Teacher handed out $5.00 off class coupons last week so Course 2 is only going to cost me $7.50 to take, that is a good deal.

You guys are all so lucky. The nearest Michael's is 1 1/2 hour drive, and our JoAnn's doesn't have cake decorating supplies. Only thing I have is limited supply Walmart... icon_cry.gif

icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who hoards coupons, I get mine from friends and family that live nearby, and then must go to different stores or drag others with them. I don't even have to look in the paper for the coupons because if there is one, on Sunday morning I'm getting three or four calls saying they've got my coupon and when can I come pick it up. LOL! Then I know to look in mine and get it out before recycling.

Since everyone is sharing, my deals were the heart shape pan set, the tilting cake stand, and the floating tier stand. I'm so glad we all got these very excellent deals. My 40% coupons will be used for some of the books/magazines and more meringue powder. You can never have enough meringue powder.

Not only does Micheals have this great sale...but Hobby Lobby has all their cake pans 1/3 off...and a coupon for 40% off. You can go to hobbylobby.com to print the coupon out.
I went to Micheals and got the round pan set and a huge tub of ready-made icing. I just got a KitchenAid Mixer, but not sure if I am ready for homemade icing just yet.

For all of you who don't get the coupons in the mail, you can get them online. For those who don't have a Michaels nearby you can order on the net and still use their coupon. so there you have it and hope that helps.

Love-a-lot.... START MAKING YOUR OWN ICING!! i almost choked when i read your post! It's really the best way to go, especially now that we are entering the humid weather. dont be afraid! icon_smile.gif it's just icing! icon_biggrin.gif

also, since i'm here, i used my TWO 50% off coupons (my mother inlaw went with me and didnt use hers) on the tilting cake stand which i havebeen eye balling for way too long and the fondant flower making set (the $20 one). I havent made too many fondant flowers but now i am ready to experiment! I did make a Louis Vitton handbag cake yesterday using ideas from some images on this site. it came out SOOOOO cute!

one question, does buttercream icing always make fondant look wet? i am thinking yes because of the butter. the best way to go with fondant decor is only on fondant covered cakes? i hardly ever use fondant, i've always just used buttercream and royal icing decor. hmmm.... quite a ramble i have here.... icon_smile.gif

I just visted the micheals website and you can not print out coupons any more . They also said that they do not send our their sale flyer by mail any more either. I know I should have gotten the sunday paper.

It is the Hobby Lobby coupon that you can print online. Go to http://www.hobbylobby.com Click on specials on the top of the page. I copy and paste the coupon to my Word Pad, that way I can paste up to 3 coupons per page. I take my son with me to also make a purchase or make several visits within that week (It is only one coupon per customer, per visit - one item per coupon).

The coupon runs everyother week.

I hope this made sense.

That is good to know. I know Hobby Lobby will not take a Michael's coupon. I accidently brought the wrong coupon with me, and they would not take it.

If you don't get the ad, SOME Michael's will let you sign a sheet at the register, and use their coupon once weekly that way. You just put your name and address on it, and they will scan it for you. One of our Michael's will do this, the other won't. Just ask at the register when you first go in.

The Michaels in my area has done away with coupons the only way to get a discount is to ask them when you get to the counter and than you can get 40% on one item.

I got the heart pan set, regularly 35.99 with the 50% off coupon.

I get AC Moore ads online and in the mail. They do give out their coupons online with the ad which is great. So one day when I was on Michaels.com, I saw a link to sign up to get the ads online thinking I'd get the coupons also but was dissappointed to find out they don't give them out that way. Oh well, just have to keep checking the newspapers.

Puzzlegut, you can only use the Michaels coupons on non-sale items. In my area, the Michaels ad is in the Sunday edition of the Washington Post with all other stores sales ads. If you sign up at Joann.com, you can get their sale ads and coupons. You can use their coupons at Micheals.

I went to Michaels for the first time Sunday. It's 1 1/2 hours away. All I can say is it's a good thing that I don't have one closer. I'd always be broke. I had a great time. Took dh with me and gave him his own 50% off coupon so I could get 2 deals. No way. He used his on an airbrush system for himself. icon_cry.gificon_lol.gif . I still managed to spend over $200.00 but got alot of cake decorating items I can't find around here. Well worth the trip.
