My son and I are entering a Mother Son bake-off contest at our PTA's Mother Son picnic this week. Last year we made the popcorn cupcakes and won; they were easy for my son to actually make. I'm looking for something that will look great, be easy enough for my 10 year old to actually help with, and (hopefully win!) Could be a cake or cupcake entry. Thanks for your help!
www.oldvillagebakery.com has a great cupcake section. Someone posted about this site earlier this week and they have great ideas! I love the fuzzy monster cupcakes.
Good luck!
i can't really help with ideas, just say that monster cupcakes sound cool & you could do with like the giant cupcake "giant style"
i have the honor of being this coming up years (06-07) PTO president & i would really like to know more about the bake-off & other events that your PTA has....if you have the time please pm me, thanks, see i need some ideas, they do the same thing every years, never anything new, i hope i can change that
Does he have a favorite? When I made a cake with my son - he was into trucks - so we did a truck cake. He used cookies as wells - and things like that - but then he was one 4 at the time.
With the hamburger cake, he can roll out the fruit jellies for the ketchup, lettuce, etc, and add the mini choc chips to the top of the bun as seeds. We served our cake in a styrofoam to-go container, and added shoestring potatoes for fries.
