I am looking for suggestions on what type of icing to use on a strawberry shortcake. Many of the online recipes make this as an individual dessert and use whipped cream for a topping. I would like to make a cake that is decorated and need a topping that tastes like whipped cream but will hold up in a piping bag. I saw online a stabalized whipped cream recipe but there were no reviews, and quite frankly, putting jello in whipped cream made me a bit nervous. I am afraid of what it will taste like. Any suggestions? (and recipes please)

Maybe you could try a recipe or two just to make sure it will taste good & holdup for you the way you need.

I don't think I was much help, but here's a bump.

Good Luck!

Does it call for flavored Jello, or gelatin? If it calls for gelatin, it shouldn't add any taste. If it calls for Jello, it would add whatever flavor you added.

It calls for gelatin, water, heavy cream and 10X sugar and vanilla. Anybody ever try anything like this?
