I need the color of Nemo the fish. If I add red to my orange coloring will that darken it? Or should I just keep adding orange gel coloring?

Thanks

I did a nemo cake and added a TINY bit of copper coloring to get the deep orange...seemed to work fine

I don't have any copper. I will be starting to decorate tomorrow. I need to get more coloring to have on hand. Thanks.

A little red will help! Just remember that this color is going to get a lot darker as it dries so don't over-do it.

You can put a small amount of icing in a small bowl tonight & add lots of orange. Then by the time you get up tomorrow you will see the result.

Yellow icing with added red will also give you orange, and may be easier to achieve.

Well I added more orange and now I will let it set until tomorrow. Hopefully it will be the right color. It did take a lot of orange. I hope I don't have any orange teeth. I used a fish shaped pan and will use the star method.

Wish me luck tomorrow I will put my first fbct on the sheet cake. I did it as the entire cake top. Makes me nervous not being able to see what the top will be like until I actually flip it.

This is for a baby shower (my daughters). I will be posting the pictures tomorrow.
