...has anyone done it?

I know that some bakeries ship their cakes around the country. Does anyone know which postal carriers deliver cakes? Can you offer any suggestions for packing, etc.? I had an idea to ship a cake to out-of-state family. Now I need some reality to see if it is feasible. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thank you!

Blessings!

This has been reviewed several times. Unless you can accompany the cake on the plane, there is no real way to ship a decorated cake.

Fondant covered simple cakes can make it, if it is tightly packed then carefully boxed. Undecorated cakes can do fine.
